For all of the bloviating you hear about “cherry picking” and “hand selecting” candidate resumes, I’ve been behind the curtain and I know how the sausage is made. I can tell you that 99% of that mess is sales talk and nothing more. Agencies run ads and rely on active candidates just like companies do. It’s preposterous to continue this 1990s era cloak-and-dagger BS of: we have access to exclusive people you’ve never seen before. They live underground like mole people and you cannot find them on your own. π Give. Me. A. Break. Even toddlers have a digital footprint now, so let’s cut the sh*t and get real. Recruiters will go for the easy business just like anyone else. If every job order you take on is a nightmare from the pits of hell, you’ll go broke and you’ll burn out.
